Celebrating Women in Engineering and Architecture: anotHERVIEWture AWARD 2026

28/10/2026

On Thursday, 22rd of October, the anotHERVIEWture AWARD 2026 brought inspiring women and industry leaders together in Vienna to celebrate excellence, innovation and women’s achievements in architecture and engineering. This year’s edition set a new record for submissions, reinforcing the award’s growing impact.

Sponsored by the Austrian Federal Chamber of Architects and Chartered Engineering Consultants, the award promotes equality and innovation, recognises outstanding projects by women architects and civil engineers, and inspires future generations. A jury of 16 experts selects the winners across four categories, each carrying a €5,000 prize.

ECEC President and jury member Nina Dražin Lovrec attended the ceremony, while Klaus Thürriedl, President of the Austrian Federal Chamber, delivered the opening address.

A highlight for ECEC was Vlatka Rajčić (Croatia), winner of the National/International Female Engineering Achievement of the Year category. Following the 2020 Zagreb earthquakes, Rajčić led the reconstruction of the historic dome and annular vault of the Croatian Association of Fine Artists building. Her innovative engineering solutions enhanced structural safety, durability and watertightness while preserving the architectural character of this historic monument — an outstanding example of engineering excellence and heritage conservation.

Congratulations to Vlatka Rajčić and fellow finalists Nadine Ritschel (Germany) and Marija Sojčić, as well as all award winners and nominees. Their achievements demonstrate the vital role women play in shaping the future of engineering and architecture.
