We stand for excellence, mobility, and recognition of Chartered Engineers in Europe.

European Council of Engineers Chambers

The ECEC is the umbrella organisation of European Engineers Chambers. It represents the professional interest of Chartered Engineers on European level. Its members are national Chambers or other legally established public bodies representing authorized Chartered Engineers. Currently the ECEC represents 17 Chambers and over 300.000 highly qualified European Chartered Engineers who are members in these Chambers.

European Chartered Engineers

European Chartered Engineers in ECEC countries are legally authorized academic Engineers who are obliged to professional legislation and the ethical and professional principles of the ECEC Code of Conduct and the ECEC Code of Quality. Knowledge, experience and know-how together with a high standard of ethical and moral demands guarantee the highest level of quality of engineering services. The protection of consumer interests, public interest and safety is warranted by legal authorization and disciplinary regulations.

ECEC QUICK FACTS

History
1998At the 1st European Engineering Forum in Dresden the necessity for a European Engineers Chamber was presented.
2000The 2nd Forum in Budapest underlined the resoluteness to establish a European Engineers Chamber.
2002The 3rd Forum held in Dubrovnik decided to establish the European Council of Engineers Chambers.
2003At the 4th Forum in Vienna the ECEC was founded and the Presidents of the Chambers in Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Montenegro, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Austria signed the founding-document. Later Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece, Spain, Cyprus, North Macedonia and Luxembourg (most recently in 2023) joined the ECEC.
2017On 14th July 2017 the ECEC officially changed its legal status to an A.I.S.B.L. (International Non-Profit Organisation) under Belgian Law.
