The possibility to submit amendments to the Draft Report of the EP Internal Market Committee on the Proposal for a Regulation laying down harmonised conditions for the marketing of construction products, amending Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 and repealing Regulation (EU) 305/2011(Text of the Annexes see HERE) ended on 14 December 2022. According to the current timetable consideration of amendments will take place on 23-24 January 2023, considerations of compromise on 1-2 March 2023 and vote in the committee on 27-28 March 2023 (Plenary in May 2023)

The proposal wants to create a harmonised framework to assess and communicate the environmental and climate performance of construction products. New product requirements shall ensure that the design and manufacture of construction products is based on state of the art to make these more durable, repairable, recyclable, easier to re-manufacture and the work of standardisation bodies to creating common European standards shall be made easier. It shall also offer digital solutions to reduce administrative burdens, particularly on SMEs, including a construction products database and a Digital Products Passport.
