The programme of the Swedish Presidency of the Council (first semester 2023), which was presented to the Council in January, aims at strengthening the EU competitiveness, unification of Europe, security and social policies in the time to come. The Swedish Presidency will prioritise work on the interconnected negotiations on the new Ecodesign Regulation and Construction Products Regulation, both of which aim to ensure an efficient and effective internal market that contributes to a circular economy with reduced environmental and climate impacts. It has also expressed its goal to advance the progress in adopting the AI Act.
