General Secretary Klaus Thürriedl - New elected President of CEPLIS

ECEC General secretary Klaus Thürriedl is a chartered engineer specialized in environmental engineering and water management. As President of CEPLIS he will now represent the interests of millions of liberal professionals across Europe.

On July 2, 2025, Klaus Thürriedl was elected as President of the European Council of the Liberal Professions (CEPLIS),  headquartered in Brussels. CEPLIS represents a wide range of European liberal professionals and is an umbrella organization for European professional associations and national associations of liberal professions.

Statement after the election: “Liberal professionals are highly qualified experts in a wide range of professions. Together we are a strong voice for responsibility, high professional ethics and competence. As President of CEPLIS, I will promote all interests of liberal professionals and for the civil society, too!”

Klaus Thürriedl will use his position to involve all liberal professions strongly directly at the grassroots level and will focus on all topics that unite the various professions. One particularly important topic for now and the future will be the responsible, realiable and controlled use of artificial intelligence (AI).
