Reports, informations and elections of the Executive Board 2025 with the first female President

The 26th ECEC General Assembly was held on 22nd November 2024 in Freistadt, Austria with a wide range of reports, information performances, discussions and at least the elections for the new Executive Board 2025 with the first female President Nina Drazin Lovrec from Croatia.

President Klaus Thürriedl focussed on the importants themes and steps form 2022 to 2024

  • promoting the European Green Deal an its policies
  • enchancing the understanding of the necessity of adequate professional regulations regarding the level of qualifications, professional conduct an responsibility and continuing professional development within the EU-Institutions
  • enchancing fair procurement procedurs for engineering servies primarily on quality instead of price-competion only
  • enchancing fair remuneration
  • development of visions of future ECEC representation in Brussels and inquiry about possible cooperation with other institutions
  • maintaining and establishing contacts wth the EESC and other institutions
  • a wide range of professional lobbying, events, meetings - national/international and reginal level
  • working on work-sharing within the Executive Board, online presence (Social Media and website) and promoting the messages of E4E

Common Training Frameword for Civil Engineers

On 15 July 2024, ECEC/ECCE once again met with the European Commission who basically agreed on taking a next step towards a CTF for Civil Engineers: This step is  bringing the ECEC/ECCE proposal forward to discuss with the competent expert group for professional recognition on member state level.

ECEC's participation in E4E Engineers for Europe

Engineers for Europe (in short E4E) is an Erasmus+ project with 11 full partners (Leadpartner Engineers Europe/former FEANI) and 13 associated partners that aims at bridging the gap between education, industry and profession in regard to skills requirements for engineers. The key outputs are the Engineering Skills Council, the E4E Curriculum, The Engineering Skills Strategy (see also the special E4E-post).

The further reports thematized the work of the Vice Presidents, the Secretary-General and the Treasurer and also the Working groups with some new informations about the BIM (Building Information Modelling and our Junior Policy Advisor gave an overview about the currnt european developments.
