ECEC CODE OF CONDUCT & ECEC CODE OF QUALITY

The European Council of Engineers Chambers adopted its "Code of Conduct for EuropeanChartered Engineers" in October 2008 and its "Code of Quality for European Chartered Engineers" in November 2010. Both are tools to guarantee the quality of services of ECEC European Chartered Engineers throughout Europe.

As the ECEC is the umbrella organisation for national Engineers Chambers which are legally recognised according to national law, each member organisation is able to implement the ECEC Codes in national legislation / ethical standards for the whole profession in its country. This means that all European Chartered Engineers who are active in the ECEC countries are covered by the ECEC Codes.

This broad coverage should not only lead to common basic quality standards, but also to a broader knowledge for clients about what they can and should expect of European Chartered Engineers. If clients trust in these basic standards, cross border provision of services of ECEC European Chartered Engineers will be amplified.
